Here we are at the very infamous first day of a new school year. This has been a day that was much awaited for (by me of course). Don't get me wrong, we had a great summer and I loved Austin being home. But sometimes time away is good too. We have worked hard this summer on the arguing that goes on between the boys and it has gotten better, but I think the boys were ready for some time apart. Austin met his teacher at Open House before school started and he was very excited about his classroom and his friends from last year that are in his class. When I asked him about his first day of 1st grade - 95% of what he said dealt with the class hamster "Samantha". He got to hold her, watch her roll around the room in her ball and he got to stick his finger in her cage and let her bite him! He said he didn't scream or cry though because it would've disturbed the class (heehee). Jackson is having to learn to play with just Ryan around the house - which leads to more fighting! Ryan just wants to be in the middle of what Jackson is doing - and Jackson doesn't like being messed with while he's playing. Oh well, that's what it's like having boys around the house. Only 2 weeks until Jackson starts school.

Oh my gosh he looks so big!! I can't believe you'll have 2 in school now! Does that make life a little easier or more hectic with more activities? :) Just wondering what the next stage will look like. :) Charley starts pre-school Sept. 6! :)
Jackson actually won't start Kinder this year. He's doing a 4 day/week 5-year old pre-K...but he'll essentially be in school :) We really haven't started many activities...Just AWANA and choir at church - Austin will do 8 weeks of basketball too, but it will really get crazy when all 3 boys have some sport to play! Guess you weren't at Wal-Mart this morning for the bomb threat and evacuation!
No, we drove by though to see if it had cleared up (because I need to return something) and saw the police cars, dogs, tv vans and people watching everywhere. It was quite a scene.
At least I got to have a conversation with Charley about how we should pray that God would help everyone, even the bad people to change their minds (we still thought it was a hostage situation from an errant report). We talked about how strong God is and how much bigger he is than even the police men. Now he has started praying about more things, like helping Ben to feel better from his cold. I love it! :)
